Samuel S. Pollard Memorial Library
401 Merrimack St., Lowell
(978) 970-4120

Take I-495 or Rte. 3 to the Lowell Connector
Stay on the Connector to exit 5B Thorndike St. As you come off the ramp, you will be on Thorndike St. You will go under one overpass, continue straight, then go under twin overpasses. At the large intersection, bear right onto Dutton St. At the third set of lights (Hess gas station on your left), take a hard left onto Merrimack St. Ahead of you on your right will be Lowell City Hall, a large gray granite building with a clock tower. The next building on the street, directly behind City Hall is the Pollard Library. The Library is also built of gray granite and has "Memorial Hall" carved in stone above the columned portico entrance. Handicapped access is on the side of the building.

Parking
Heading up Merrimack St. past the Library, take the third right (at the Cabot St. traffic light). Take the first right onto Moody St. Follow Moody St. over the bridge and past several parking lots on the right to the entrance labeled "Parking For Library Patrons Only." Park in the lot and walk a short distance across Colburn St. to the side entrance of the Library; it is wheelchair accesible and leads directly to the elevator.

Alternative parking:
On Merrimack, Moody, and Arcand Streets, there is metered parking. Metered spaces are officially free of charge on weekends and after 6:00 p.m. on weekdays.
