From Route 128:
Take Exit 26, Lowell Street, Peabody. At the end of the exit ramp, turn east onto Lowell Street (coming from the south, this is a right turn; coming from the north, this is a left turn). Follow Lowell Street for approximately one mile to Peabody Square past the City Hall on your right. A large monument is located in the center of the Square at a traffic light intersection. Continue straight beyond the traffic light, Lowell Street now becomes Main Street. The Peabody Institute Library is at 82 Main Street on the left hand side, one block from the monument. The Peabody Institute Library is a red, brick building surrounded by a black, wrought-iron fence.

There are a few spaces to the right of the library or in the back of the Knights of Columbus building next door. There is also additional parking spaces to the left of the library near the Children's Room entrance on Wallis Street. Metered parking is available on Main Street or in the Wallis Street parking lot opposite the Post Office (Wallis Street is immediately adjacent to the Library - landmark is the Peabody Music Box on the left). Meters are in effect Monday through Saturday.

From the Main Library

Take a right from the Main Library parking lot. Follow Main Street through Peabody Square until it turns into Lowell Street. Follow Lowell Street for about three miles. You will go under the Route 1 overpass. About a half-mile after the Route 1 overpass, the road will fork. There's a blinking light at the fork. Bear right. The West Branch Library is just past the fork on your right after the West Peabody Fire Station.
