Description: Photograph of the front of the Kirkbride Complex, including the Central Administrative Building, of the Danvers State Hospital for the Insane. This building was constructed in 1874-76 in the Victorian Gothic style from the design of architect Nathaniel J. Bradlee, utilizing the design philosophy of Dr. Thomas Story Kirkbride. This photograph was originally published in 1893.
