The Lawrence Public Library is a public library of 200,000 titles with two buildings in the City of Lawrence. The library services a diverse population of 70,000 people. The Special Collections of the library include some 30,000 items. The collections include the AOH Div. 8 Irish Collection as well as manuscripts, six monograph collections, 200 serial titles, 3000 photographs, 500 World War I and II posters, 30 archival collections, and a variety of ephemera that document the history of the Merrimack Valley. Other subjects included in the Special Collections are labor, immigration, the textile industry, local genealogy, Catholicism, and the history of New England.
