Description: Studio photograph of Mary Duncan Harris, wife of Robert Harris and daughter of James H. Duncan. In 1897, Mary Duncan Harris organized the founding of the Haverhill Historical Society. Seven years later, she donated her family house, Buttonwoods, to the Society. She supported missionary work in Burma and Japan, traveling to those places in the early 20th century.
