Duties and Responsibilities: A tech savvy YA librarian to plan and deliver preteen and teen services, building on existing successes. Member of a team providing reference service to youths from preschool through grade 12. Administer LSTA 'Tweens & Teens grant. Outreach to schools and community organizations.
Qualifications: MLS or MLS candidate who enjoys adolescents. Familiar with YA literature, gaming technologies, web page upkeep, and Microsoft Office products. Organized, self-starter, team player. Good with both words and numbers.

Duties/Description: The Town of Tewksbury, with a population of 30,000, is
looking for an energetic, enthusiastic new director with
the vision and mission to make the library a truly great
destination for our community to learn and grow.
The successful candidate is responsible for management of
the Library Department under the general direction of the
Town Manager and under policies established by our
excellent Board of Library Trustees; including
administration, supervision of staff, services and
programs, long-range and short-range planning, goal setting
and implementation, budgeting and financial management,
public relations and facilities management.
Management of a beautiful, 10 year old, 36,000 square foot
building and a staff of approximately 15 dedicated
employees.
Collaborate with diverse library, school, town, and
community groups to cultivate and deliver exciting programs
that promote reading and cultural awareness. Promote
library activities and participate in professional
meetings, councils and committees, including working with
our growing Friends of the Library group.
Qualifications: Masters in Library Science from an ALA accredited school; 8
to 10 years of post-MLS experience in a library, with a
minimum of 5 years supervisory experience.
Candidate must be eligible to hold a Certificate of
Professional Librarianship issued by the Massachusetts
Board of Library Commissioners.
Must have flexibility of scheduling of the work week (40
hours) to include some weekend or weeknight shifts as
needed to attend evening meetings or public hearings
throughout the year.
Salary: $67,800 to $82,400

Duties/Description: The Boxford Town Library seeks an innovative,
forward-looking, collaborative, customer driven librarian to
supervise our circulation services! The ideal candidate is a
team player and has a strong commitment to excellent public
service and recognition of the importance of every library
user. Knowledge of automated circulation systems as well as
excellent verbal and written communication skill is essential.
Description of Duties: The Head of Circulation reports to
the Director and Assistant Director and is responsible for
efficient and effective work flow and services at the
Circulation Desk. This position supervises and trains all
staff members who are scheduled to provide service at the
circulation desk and provides direct service to patrons. The
Head of Circulation prepares and problem-solves the daily
work schedules, resolves patron borrowing and materials
issues, and oversees and trains library volunteers. Other
duties include ready reference, representing the library at
professional meetings and participating in staff development.
The Boxford Town Library is a small library and as such all
staff positions require flexibility in carrying out job
duties. The ideal candidate feels as comfortable providing
direct service to the patron as s/he does in evaluating and
planning services.
Special Requirements: Valid Driver's License and
transportation is necessary in order to move between
Boxford's two libraries.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required; masters in
library science or work toward professional degree is a
bonus. Minimum of two years library experience and facility
with integrated library systems required.
Salary: This is a 30-hour per week, benefited position. The current union contract sets the wage at $17.69/hour.

Duties/Description: The Trustees of the Reuben Hoar Library located in
Littleton, MA, a small community of 9,000 located 30 miles
outside of Boston, seek a Library Director who will exercise
overall administrative and operational management of the RHL.
Duties: Oversee a highly dedicated, cooperative, and
competent library staff and group of volunteers while
maintaining high levels of service excellence.
The Director must have excellent customer service and public
relation skills with the ability to work effectively with
the Library Board, library fundraising groups, and a variety
of local government and other community agencies and
organizations.
The Director must prepare and monitor the library budget,
oversee payroll, review payment of bills, plan and supervise
the operations of library programs, develop and enforce
procedures, oversee and monitor staff, assign personnel and
develop work schedules and other related work as required.
Qualifications: A master's degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited
program and a minimum of five years experience as library
director or assistant director is required.
Essential attributes include: collaborative and consensus
building skills; proven success working effectively with
policy-making board members, a Friends' organization and
municipal officials; the ability to work with a proven and
experienced staff; superior written and oral communication
abilities; demonstrated success in effectively promoting
library service to the community; political acumen; and
fluency in emerging technologies.
Knowledge of library expansion and building processes is
preferred. Reader's Advisory experience, familiarity with
grant proposals and an interest in genealogy is a plus.
Work with energy, enthusiasm, and creativity to make the
Reuben Hoar Library a vital, relevant, and exciting place to
learn and grow.
Salary: High-50s to low 60s, commensurate with experience.
