• NMRLS General Discussion List
  The NMRLS general discussion list has been set up to provide a communications forum for members of the Northeast Massachusetts Regional Library System. Library staff from all Massachusetts libraries (including non-members) are encouraged to exchange ideas, post questions or vacancies, announce surplus items for sale, or use the listserv for other library-related purposes.

  Beginning May 1, 2009, we have made some changes to the NMRLS mailing list as we, together with the other regions, moved to a new mailing list manager.

  The new list manager provides you as subscribers with more options:

  • Formatted email, not just plain-text
  • Attachments
  • A web-based interface for managing your access
  • More delivery options, including daily and weekly digests.
  • Stopping and Restarting mail, and going on “vacation”.
  • Mail archive and mail search integrated into manager
  • Manage multiple list subscriptions with one login.

  There are numerous advantages to the region as list administrators as well.

  All current members of the nmrls list have been transitioned over automatically; you need not do anything to continue to receive email

  Changes

  When you send a new message, please send it to: nmrls@mblc.state.ma.us

  When you receive messages they will usually be in the form: nmrls-owner@mblc.state.ma.us ; on behalf of; Sender [Sender’s email]

  The subject of each message will contain the string: [nmrls] so that you can set up automatic mail handling rules if you desire in your email program.

  If you want to, you will be able to establish a web login at: http://mblc.state.ma.us/sympa by selecting the “First login?” link. This step is NOT necessary to continue to send and receive email from the list.

• NMRLS Young Adult Discussion List
  The NMRLS Young Adult Discussion List has been set up to provide a communications forum for members of the Northeast Massachusetts Regional Library System who have an interest in Young Adult issues. It is open to members, staff, committee members, and approved contractors. Participants are encouraged to use the discussion list to share ideas, post questions, or any other relevant exhanges having to do with Young Adults.

  Commercial announcements and advertisements are not permitted. Inappropriate use of the discussion list is not allowed. Offenders may be excluded from the discussion list.

• MASSYAC (Massachusetts Young Adult and Children) List
  MASSYAC (Massachusetts Young Adult and Children) is a discussion group for staff providing Young Adult and Children’s services in school and public libraries in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. MASSYAC is sponsored by the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners.
  Join MASSYAC

  The mission of the group is to improve library services to children and young adults in Massachusetts by facilitating communication among those serving them.
