Second Annual Program Power Breakfast

The Second Annual Program Power Breakfast is an opportunity to meet with colleagues and brainstorm effective and creative ways to encourage children, teens, families, and adults to visit the library and to read throughout the year.

Our panel of outstanding NMRLS member librarians will share tips and techniques on the many aspects of planning, conducting, and evaluating programs for all ages.

The day begins with a catered brunch with plenty of time to network with your colleagues.

There is a small program fee.

Registration limit is 50.

NMRLS will offer five marketing training workshops in April and May. Each can stand alone, or build on your knowledge of marketing terms and the marketing process by attending more! Open to all staff from any library type.

Creating a Marketing Plan for Your Library

This workshop will present step-by-step instructions, practical tools and innovative ideas that will guide library staff through the process of creating an effective marketing strategy for their library, programs or special events. Hands-on exercises will help you:

  • Identify users
  • Develop targeted marketing messages
  • Identify marketing tools your staff can implement within your library's
  • Establish additional marketing options: HTML e-mail, blogs, RSS feeds
  • Develop both cost and benefits analysis for the marketing plan

The instructors are Rob Favini and Steve Sanzo of NELINET.

Uncovering Your Library's Unique Brand

By understanding the fundamentals of building a library brand, librarians improve their ability to increase visibility and perceptions of value. Attending this workshop will help you:

  • Determine what a brand does and how it relates to other marketing and communications activities
  • Differentiate between the library brand and single service marketing
  • Identify the look and feel of a library brand and what it says about your library
  • Learn how to combine visual and written communications to create brand identity

The instructors are Rob Favini and Steve Sanzo and of NELINET.
