We have calculated the of services provided to member libraries in fiscal year 2007. The total of service was $7.84 per dollar invested in NMRLS for a regional total of just over $12.8 million. The chart below illustrates the average for each type of library.
The value of service is calculated each year for the membership to determine what the retail price would be for all of the services provided by NMRLS. This establishes a tangible value of the regionalization of services to members in northeast Massachusetts which provides libraries with enhanced services at a much lower cost than is available to individual libraries.
