We need your help! The NMRLS Strategic Planning Committee has designed two surveys to provide critical planning information and member participation is needed.
The Member Library Staff Survey is designed to gather planning information from all library staff members in NMRLS member libraries. Your opinion, responses, and comments about NMRLS' future are essential to our success. We ask that you complete this important online survey by January 7, 2005.
Please visit the online survey at: www.nmrls.org/surveys/libstaff.htm.
The Library Patron Survey - The NMRLS Strategic Planning Committee needs your assistance. We are asking public and academic libraries to host a "five-minute" survey aimed at patrons to gather information for our plan and to complete a member library survey.
The Library Patron Survey is designed for use in public and academic libraries and is intentionally very brief. One major purpose is to get contact information from folks who think the future of libraries is on a downward trend so we can follow up for more information. Other purposes are to gather input and comments on NMRLS services, i.e., delivery and electronic databases. The question about remote use of the catalog is designed to identify remote users. We also ask about general satisfaction and suggestions for library services. We will share results with hosting libraries.
We ask that surveys be hosted and distributed during December and part of January. We have created buttons you can use on your site to promote the survey, or feel free to create your own links. We also encourage you to distribute printed surveys to your visitors. To preview the survey and learn more, please visit: www.nmrls.org/surveys/5-min/5-min.htm.
Please contact NMRLS if you have any questions.
