Online Workshops are Here!
NMRLS is sponsoring distance education workshops via WebJunction. These workshops work through the Microsoft Internet Explorer browser and require no additional software! All the workshops are self-paced and have no time-limit for completion. WebJunction provides an extensive list of online workshops that cover both technology and advocacy issues.
The course list includes, but is not limited to:
- Microsoft Office suite (Access, Excel, Word, etc)
- Microsoft FrontPage
- Dreamweaver MX
- Photoshop
- XML
- Networking Essentials
- Linux
- Media Relations
- Fundraising for Libraries
- Hispanic/Latino Youth Librarianship

If you are interested in taking a fee-based WebJunction workshop contact Scott Kehoe, NMRLS (scott@nmrls.org / 1-888-326-7772).
WebJunction is a cooperative effort between the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and OCLC. NMRLS is participating in a state-wide Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation grant, a portion of the grant is being used to purchase online workshops form WebJunction.
Workshop cancellations due to inclement weather: If the public schools close in the city or town where a workshop is to be held, the workshop will be cancelled. A message will be placed on the NMRLS voicemail system, homepage, and listserv by 7:30 a.m. the morning of the workshop. If a workshop is cancelled before the date it was to be held, NMRLS will make every effort to contact the registered members.
