Valerie Diggs will represent Massachusetts at the upcoming AASL Vision Summit. The American Association of School Librarians (AASL) is hosting the summit in Chicago starting December 1st, bringing together visionary leaders of the profession from around the country to explore the school library media program of the future, and to identify what needs to be done to achieve that vision. The ideas generated at the AASL Vision Summit will support the development of new guidelines for the profession.
Each state school library organization will have one representative at the summit. Valerie was selected by MSLA President Kathy Lowe based on the leadership she has shown as a member of the MSLA Executive Board and her years of experience as a school library professional. Valerie is Director of Libraries for the Chelmsford Public Schools and Professional Standards chair for MSLA.
