School Library Media Center Recertification:
Mary Behrle presented a summary of where NMRLS currently stands in the 2003/2004 school recertification process. As of January 15, 154 of 228 current school members are recertified for two years, 43 do not meet NMRLS certification criteria, 22 libraries have not responded to two letters requesting recertification information, and 9 school libraries have requested one-year waivers.

Approval of Waiver Recommendations for School Library Media Center Recertification (unanimously approved): Mary Behrle requested that the Board vote on a recommendation to accept waiver requests from 6 of the 9 libraries seeking waivers.

Letters will be sent to schools to report on their membership status. The Board will vote on removal of membership for libraries that do not meet NMRLS eligibility requirements at its meeting on February 19, at Stevens Memorial Library, North Andover. Schools in jeopardy of losing membership will be invited to attend this meeting.

A complete list of school library members will be available after the February meeting.

Supplemental Deposit Collection RFP Update:
Mary Behrle reported that NMRLS received a bid from the Merrimac Public Library to contract for Supplemental Deposit services through fiscal 2007. The collection will be housed in the new Merrimac Library, to be completed this spring. The RFP Committee will meet on January 21 with Library Director, Don Macmillan.

Updated Board and Committee Rosters
Susan Grabski distributed an updated Board and Committee roster and requested that she be made aware of any corrections to the document.
