IMLS Partnership for a Nation of Learners Community Collaboration Grants are funded to build and strengthen working relationships among libraries, museums, and public broadcasting licensees that enhance their roles within their communities. Each project should show how such collaboration and shared resources enable partners to meet clearly defined needs for one or more audience segments within their local communities. IMLS 21st Century Museum Professional Grants are designed to address preparation of museum professionals by updating and expanding their knowledge and skills in all areas of museum operations. Projects should reach broad groups of museum professionals in multiple institutions or from diverse audiences. Activities eligible for funding include professional training and leadership development, as well as collection and dissemination of information to museum professionals. Grants range from $15,000 to $500,000. Guidelines for this new program are at www.imls.gov/grants/museum/mus_cmp.htm The deadline is March 15, 2005.

The U.S. Department of Education is accepting applications for the 2005 Improving Literacy Through School Libraries Program. Approximately $19,000,000 will be available for funding a projected 100 grants under this competition. For information and an e-application see: www.ed.gov/programs/lsl/applicant.html .
