Looking for Potential Grant Collaborators
Second call!
NMRLS is looking for members with abolition collections who would be interested in joining together in a Massachusetts Foundation for the Humanities (MFH) Planning and Development Exhibition Grant www.mfh.org/grants/grantypes/exhibit.html, under MFH's "Liberty and Justice for All" initiative.
In the planning and development stage, we would identify participants (academic, public, and special libraries) and potential collections. The ultimate goal would be a traveling exhibit and (possibly) speaker events to coincide with the 225th anniversary of Commonwealth v. Jennison, the Massachusetts Supreme Court decision that declared slavery unconstitutional on July 8, 1783.
Please contact Mary Behrle mary@nmrls.org if your library would be interested. We've heard from a few libraries so far.
The next proposal deadlines are May 1 and August 1, 2006.
The Boston Bruins Foundation accepts applications from 501(c)(3) organizations looking to enhance the quality of life for children in and around Boston.
Think about the opportunities for your school or public library. Perhaps we can combine some of your ideas into a single grant that NMRLS, as a 501(c)(3) organization, can submit for a group of collaborating members.
Please email Mary Behrle mary@nmrls.org if you are interested and we will see what may be possible.
See the Bruins Foundation www.bostonbruinsfoundation.com/grants.asp for more details. Grants are reviewed semi-annually.
