4th NMRLS Area Joint Friends' Meeting
Hamilton-Wenham Public Library

On January 26, 25 members of area Friends groups from 11 libraries met at Hamilton-Wenham Public Library. The agenda topics were online book sales, Friends bookstores, and revitalizing your Friends group.

Guest speakers were Emily Classon, Community Services Librarian, Memorial Hall Library (Andover) who showed an Amazon link http://www.mhl.org/about/facts/friends/ that the MHL Friends use as a fundraiser. Fran Cooper, an online bookseller, talked about using Amazon to sell better used books for libraries.

Tina Stewart and Peggy Kane discussed Wilmington Memorial Library's Book Store Next Door http://www.wilmlibrary.org/about/friends.html. From a lost building project, emerged a very successful fundraising operation.

Karin Round, a member of the Friends of the Lynnfield Public Library, talked about revitalizing Friends groups.
