"Me and My Shadow" Update
On January 30, 18 participants of "Me and My Shadow" met at Lucius Beebe Library in Wakefield, to wrap up the second year of the staff exchange program.
Carrying on the program's themes of job rejuvenation, learning, and networking, the group was treated to a speaker. Mime Robert Rivest - http://www.rivestmime.com/ - presented a blend of movement and breathing to reduce stress and reenergize the body. Refreshments followed, along with an informal discussion, where shadows shared the ideas they learned on their visits.
The day was funded through an H. W. Wilson Staff Development Grant. Assistant directors Laura Zalewski (Wakefield) and Giselle Stevens (Newburyport) organized the staff exchanges for Year Two of the program.
Open to staff from any type library, "Me and My Shadow" is an opportunity to network with colleagues and to learn from them. Shadows are asked to go to their host library with a question and come back to their own with an answer or a new idea. Learn more about the Program at http://www.nmrls.org/news/oct06/shadow.shtml.
Watch for information about Year Three and consider taking part in an exchange!
