"Enjoyed your article on Summer Reading Lists. Lack of cooperation with school systems is the librarian's lament! I tried for over a month to get a copy of (a local) High School reading list--I called, emailed, whined etc. etc.--nothing! Finally I got a list when the kids started coming over to get their books. The list included the new --as in hasn't shipped yet and has over 730 requests!--Harry Potter, the new Mary Higgins Clark --300 requests, and Seabiscuit--100 requests.
It just shouldn't be this hard.
