Youth Services Column
By Susan Babb

Committee Members Needed for Youth Services!

The Youth Services Committee needs new members! We are looking for both public youth services and school librarians. We meet 4 - 6 times a year. The role of the NMRLS Youth Services Committee continues to be a proactive mix of advocacy, planning, and implementing. The make-up of the Committee is well balanced between school and public libraries as well as between NOBLE & MVLC.

If you are interested in serving on this Committee, please contact Susan Babb .

Summer Reading Program Updates

ReadsinMa Online Reading

There are currently 168 libraries participating in the Online Reading program! Over 30 of these are in the Northeast!

You can see who is participating this summer by visiting http://readsinma.org.

ReadsinMa continues into the fall. The online reading program can be used for any children's, teen, or adult program. If you would like to use the program (for free!), please send in the form located at http://www.nmrls.org/surveys/evanced.htm. The software will be available year-round, so you can use it anytime - for winter reading programs, Massachusetts Children's Book Award programs, Adult Reading programs - the sky's the limit!

www.ReadsinMA.org is supported by your local library, the Massachusetts Regional Library Systems, and the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners, with funding from the Institute of Museums and Library Services, an independent federal agency that grows and sustains a Nation of Learners because lifelong learning is critical to success.
