Top Ten Diversity Picture Books Published in 2002:
The Best of Beyond Difference is a recommended list of the top ten diversity picture books published in 2002. The list was compiled by the Vermont Center for the Book and a committee of educators who were guided by the desire to find quality picture books that reflect the diverse experiences of all children in the United States. Because the competition evolved from the Beyond Difference program, which introduces diversity into the third and fourth grade curriculum through picture books, these books are recommended especially for these ages. They are wonderful stories to read to older or younger children in any family or library setting.
For a listing of the books, please visit: http://www.vermontbook.org/best_03_bibliographies.html
