Call for Submissions for Summer 2005! Going places @ your library®

Yes, that says 2005! Work is already beginning on 2005. Please visit www.nmrls.org/sum/2004/update2005.html.

The materials will be presented in the same format as was provided in 2004: sample 6-8 week summer reading programs for several age groups ranging from birth to young adult. Each sample program provides book lists, activities, songs, and reproducibles to go along with the 2005 theme. Each of the six regions has agreed to continue to manage the compilation and development of an age-specific section of the Web Resource.

The Massachusetts Regional Library Systems Statewide Reading Program Steering Committee needs submissions by September 15, 2004 to allow time for revision and proofing.

On behalf of the Summer Reading Program Committee and the Regional Consultants, thank you for your help and participation!

SRP 2006 Theme and Slogan Selected

The statewide Summer Reading Program Steering Committee selected the theme and slogan for SRP 2006. Nature is the theme; the slogan is Reading is natural @your library®. Some of you may recognize this slogan; it was the slogan in 1995. This will give you the opportunity to recycle some of those great ideas you had a decade ago! While the slogan is the same, the artwork and the online manual will be different. Now you have the best of both worlds!
