On May 3rd the Northeast Regional Librarians joined other Regional Librarians at a Statewide Interlibrary Loan Meeting in Whately, Massachusetts, at the new WMRLS facility. After a tour of the new building the meeting started with updates on regional ILL Center activities. It was noted that the Falmouth ILL Processing Center is closing as of June 30. The Regional Centers from NMRLS were pleased to be able to announce we will be increasing service by taking requests for educational/instructional media from our patrons.
There was also some discussion on the anticipated change in the platform of OCLC from Passport to the web based Resource Sharing.
Nora Blake from MassCat was there to speak about MassCat and encourage everyone to use it for borrowing.
Other items on the agenda included some discussion of Virtual Catalog items lost in delivery and the packaging of breakables for delivery.
The next meeting will be in the Fall.
