There are several budget figures for regional library systems under discussion in the legislature. Each of them will allow us to renew all of our current licenses (see current offerings at: www.nmrls.org/reference/dbases.shtml). However, if our budget comes in below these figures or if unexpected cost increases arise between now and July 1st, we would need to reconsider.

The Reference Committee discussed the possibility of seeking a member-supported group purchase of a number of local weekly papers through NewsBank (part of the Boston Metro Collection). The Committee recommended against seeking a group purchase arrangement at this point.
