Each year the Northeast Region holds a Legislative Breakfast at a library somewhere in the Region. This breakfast has been held annually for the last ten years, and locations have included, Reading, Danvers, Saugus, Beverly, Haverhill, Methuen and Wakefield. This year our Breakfast was held in the beautiful Chelmsford Public Library on March 3, with a shamrock theme that emphasized public, school/academic, and special libraries. With approximately 100 people in attendance, it was a successful event for library supporters and legislators. It gave us in the library community (Library staff, Trustees and Friends) an opportunity to talk about the statewide Legislative Agenda, and to advocate for better funding for our libraries.

Each year the Breakfast is funded by Friends and Trustee groups. The enormous success of our breakfast would not be possible without this funding, which also helps support MLA's April Legislative Day on Beacon Hill.
