Assistant Directors' Forum:

On February 11th, NMRLS hosted the first Assistant Directors' Forum Brown Bag. Fifteen assistant directors gathered to discuss the similarities and differences of their job responsibilities. Topics that day centered on scheduling, software for scheduling, and timesheet management.

The next meeting will be on Tuesday, May 13th from 12 - 2:00, at Reading Public Library. All assistant directors are most welcome. It's a great opportunity to meet each other, share ideas, and find solutions to problems!

Please bring your lunch. Reading will provide coffee and tea. Register on the NMRLS website at http://www.nmrls.org/ce/ceform.shtml.

Hold the Date! GASB Standard 34 and Libraries:

GASB (Governmental Accounting Standards Board) Standard 34 changes the way that municipal governments view accounting and budgets. Library buildings and collections are significant assets in a community. Jim Powers, a CPA from Powers & Sullivan of Woburn, will re-present a workshop held at NMRLS in October. Bring your questions. This one will be held on Wednesday, May 14th from 9:30 -12:30, at Tewksbury Public Library.

You may register on the NMRLS website at http://www.nmrls.org/ce/ceform.shtml.
