The Assistant Directors' Forum met on February 5th at Memorial Hall Library, Andover. Teens in the library was a major discussion topic, and the group toured the young adult section of Memorial Hall Library. The next meeting is scheduled for May 6th. On February 9th, eighteen school and academic librarians met at the Oliver Wendell Holmes Library, Phillips Academy. Thanks go out to Elisabeth Tully (Phillips) and Ann Grandmaison (Northern Essex Community College), who led a brown bag discussion on preventing and detecting plagiarism.

Over thirty public library directors and trustees attended Survivor: Library Success in Difficult Times on February 13th, at Nevins Memorial Library, Methuen. Co-sponsored by NMRLS and the Massachusetts Library Association, speakers included Sharon Pollard (Mayor of Methuen), Carol Mahoney (Director, Cary Memorial Library, Lexington), and Susan Tallman (Director, Ritter Memorial Library, Lunenburg). Dianne Carty of MBLC presented an easy-to-use online advocacy tool for libraries to use to compare their resources and statistics with cities and towns across the state.
