Eighteen representatives from eleven NMRLS area institutions attended the first meeting of PastPerfectTM software users on February 4th at the Topsfield Historical Society. This group will work to share their expertise and knowledge of the software, which is used to manage special collections and membership information in archives, museums, historic societies, and libraries.
The Reference Committee met at NMRLS on February 9th to discuss electronic database renewal options, with an eye on funding for the next fiscal year.
The Special Libraries Committee met on February 10th at the American Textile History Museum in Lowell. The group was treated to a tour of the Osborne Library (three floors of books, manuscripts, mill documents, maps, and historic textiles) and had time to make a quick visit to exhibits. Thank you to Clare Sheridan for her hospitality. The next Special Libraries meeting will be on Tuesday, May 11th, from10:00 - 12:00, at the Salem Athenaeum.
The Continuing Education (CE) Committee met on February 20th at the new North Shore Community College Library, Danvers. The main agenda item was to review the previous three years' CE member surveys and plan for the upcoming survey to be sent out in early Spring.
