Promoting the Statewide Summer Library Adventure
The Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners (MBLC) is excited to be a partner with the Regional Library Systems to help promote the 2004 summer reading program, Explore other worlds @ your libraryŽ.
"Instead of coming up with a new program to promote libraries and library services, the MBLC Public Relations Committee decided to invest some of its Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) federal grant money in promoting the very successful program," said David Gray, MBLC Director of Communications and Public Information.
During the past several months, a Summer Reading Promotional Committee, comprised of Susan Babb, Youth Services Consultant of the Northeast Massachusetts Regional Library System; Connie Dudgeon, Administrative Assistant of the Boston Regional Library System; David Gray; Mary Ann Tourjee, Youth Services Consultant of the Central Massachusetts Regional Library System, and Cate Zannino, Media Relations Manager of the Boston Public Library, has been meeting to strategize an advertising plan. "Currently we are hoping to advertise the summer reading program in theaters across the Commonwealth during the month of June, a Web site for parents and kids, as well as have some kickoff events across the state in mid-June," said Gray.
