On February 16, fourteen members participated in a Conflict Resolution workshop presented by Vicki Milledge and Tony DeAngelis, of Redline Organizational Performance Consulting, Norwood. Vicki and Tony led a full-day discussion on dealing with interpersonal conflict in work settings.

NMRLS thanks Nancy Rea, Director of the Haverhill Public Library, for her workshop on Writing Performance Appraisals, held at NMRLS on February 28. Nancy presented many thoughtful tips and guidelines to the twelve participants who represented managers from various levels at academic, public, and school libraries.

Crime Prevention in Your Library - Crime…we hate to think about in our buildings, but need to know how to handle it. Retired Danvers Police Officer, Jon Tiplady, will discuss situations you might encounter in your library and present strategies to empower you to understand and react to suspicious activities. You'll learn to identify possible problem areas in your building and think about ways to deter crime. Jon welcomes participants' questions ahead of the sessions, so that the training will be geared to the needs of the group attending.
