New Commissioner Appointed
Governor Mitt Romney has appointed Emily M. Salaun of Needham to a three-year term on the nine-member Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners. She replaces Robert Mooney of Nantucket.
Salaun has had a long time interest in libraries serving as a trustee of the Needham Free Public Library since 1985, and also as a member of the State Advisory Council on Libraries from 1995-1996. Early in her career, Salaun was an editor and columnist with the Boston Record-American & Sunday Advertiser, and for the past 40 years as the public relations director for a number of sports related organizations, among them Henri Salaun Sports, Living Sports International,
Massachusetts Squash Association and the New England Tennis Association.
A graduate of Simmons College School of Communications, she is a member of Publicity Club of New England, Boston Children's Hospital League, Needham Town Meeting, and the Needham Republican Town Committee.
