Tewksbury Librarian Lands in Jail!
The Tewksbury Public Library participated in the Muscular Dystrophy Association's Lock Up fundraiser this year. The Library's Assistant Director, Emily Classon, was "arrested" on behalf of the Public Library on February 28, 2006 for the "crime" of caring about the community.
Library users, staff, and Emily's friends and family raised a total of $1,251 to bail Emily out of jail and to raise money to help Tewksbury and Wilmington residents with muscular dystrophy. By reaching the $1,200 limit, the Tewksbury Public Library was able to raise enough money to send two children to MDA summer camp.
