Miracle in Gloucester, at the Library - The following story was captured in more local papers but this was reported in Library Journal (4/17/2003):

"The folks at the Sawyer Free Library, Gloucester, tell us this tale. A young couple entered with one of the more unusual requests for the library staff. The young woman told the librarian her name was April, she had been placed up for adoption at six, and now age at 21 wanted to find her birth mother, whom she knew had been living in the town. Armed only with a photo and a first name, which was Star, the woman would seemingly need a miracle to find her mother. Enter said miracle. While April was searching local directories for anyone named Star, another patron approached the desk asking to use an Internet terminal. After the patron signed in, the librarian was shocked to see the woman's first name was Star. After apprising April and her husband of the remarkable coincidence, the three from a distance compared the photo to the stranger at the terminal. Husband Marc approached the woman and showed her the photo, to which she instantly responded, "That's me." A joyful, tearful reunion ensued, to the applause of library staff."
