The Friends of the Reuben Hoar Library were "flocked" on the library grounds in April. A local church, raising funds for a trip to the Gulf Coast to help with the rebuilding, provided a flock of flamingos at the site of the donor's choice to anyone paying $25. Church members set the birds up in the morning and removed them at night. They found that activity pretty tiring since the project lasted three weeks.
They may continue the project by allowing people to rent the flock without delivery and pick up. To date, the project has raised $700. The church offered "anti-flocking" insurance, but no one has taken them up on it.
