InfoTrac INFORME’
Several months ago, Gale added the INFORME’ database to the InfoTrac menu. Informe’ has always been accessed through a separate link. The “old” link will be turned off by the end of this fiscal year, June 30th, so you will want to remove http://infotrac.galegroup.com/itweb/nmrls_ifme from your access page.
Including Informe’ with the regular InfoTrac menu will enable us to better capture usage statistics, and it eliminates the need for a separate link. Informe is a reference database that provides indexing, full text, and images of the most popular Hispanic magazines. It also includes full text pamphlets on a variety of topics, such as health care.
If you do prefer to have Informe’ database as a separate link you can create a new link for your library. You will need your Location ID (xxx) and the Informe’ Product Code (IFME): http://infotrac.galegroup.com/itweb/mlin_n_xxx?db=IFME (you need to insert your Location ID where the xxx is).
If you don’t know your Location ID, you may contact Lucie at NMRLS, lucie@nmrls.org
You can also create individual links for any of the Gale databases, by using the same format. For a list of the other Gale Product Codes, go to: http://support.gale.com/al/12/1/article.asp?aid=1358&bt=4n.
The Remote/From Home link for Informe’ remains the same: http://mblc.state.ma.us/cgi-bin/remote.pl?db=informe
GALE Usage Statistics:
You can now set up and access your own usage statistics reports! Gale and MBLC recently held a series of webinars to train library staff. If you didn’t have a chance to attend a webinar, you may still access your statistics by registering here: http://access.gale.com/mblc/itconfig.html
You will be sent access information and will be set up with an account.
