MLA Paralibrarian Section Mission Statement - New!

Through support and increased awareness of paralibrarians, the Section advocates for recognition and participation in the library community. The Section promotes and provides a forum for networking and career development opportunities.

Why do we have a new Mission Statement? Because new and exciting programs are happening with the MLA Paralibrarian Section. Visit and click on "Sections & Committees" ~ scroll down to Paralibrarian Section and learn more about the people who are making it happen, and ways you can join us. Be sure to read about the PARA Program and the Paralibrarian Awards.

*May 2-3-4* ~ the MLA Conference "Branching Out @ MLA" with some exciting programs sponsored by the Paralibrarian Section.

Hooray for the Trustees of the Reuben Hoar Library in Littleton!

The Reuben Hoar Library Trustees paid for MLA memberships for all paralibrarian staff members for 1 year. Why? To encourage each Littleton paralibrarian staffer to apply for a PAralibrarian Recognition of Achievement (PARA) at the discounted MLA members rate of just $10.

Director Marnie Oakes and the Reuben Hoar Library Trustees have encouraged paralibrarian staff to take advantage of this opportunity to earn the PARA! The applicants expect to have the paperwork assembled and submitted in time to receive the PARAs at the MLA Conference in May.
