The Reference Committee met on September 11 and heard an update on databases from Greg Pronevitz. Please visit http://www.nmrls.org/reference/dbases.shtml to see the status of databases. The Committee discussed how to help member libraries in providing reference services. A survey will be coming out in mid- October asking for information regarding what databases other than those provided by NMRLS members have had, do have, or wish they had.

The Supplemental Services Committee met on September 16 to discuss the changes in the Supplemental Deposit Collection service. With Memorial Hall no longer providing the service in FY05, the Committee decided to issue an RFP in the hopes that another library in the region would be willing to take on this service. The RFP was issued on October 1.

The Youth Services Committee met on October 2, 2003, and made final preparations for the 4th Annual Meet the Author (October 20) and plan for the second workshop in the YS series "The Best and Worst of Times Survival Toolkit" to be held in January. The Committee heard updates from Susan Babb on summer reading, the intern program, and the YSLead Institute.
