The Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners and the Massachusetts Friends Of Libraries will sponsor a Fund-raising Seminar on Saturday, November 15, 2003 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the J.V. Fletcher Library, Westford. Rick Blaine, Richard R. Blain & Associates, Consultant in Philanthropy will be the speaker. The seminar will be a combination of lecture, discussion, and role-playing to explore what motivates people to give to libraries, and how to effectively solicit support through personal (face to face) solicitation. Rick Blaine will address common fears about asking for money. He will also address such questions as "What do I say during the solicitation call/visit?" "What if they don't say yes?"
