On September 30, seventeen participants of NMRLS' The Library Experience: Older Citizens LSTA grant met for a second session to discuss Lifelong Access Libraries www.lff.org/programs/lifelong.html, a program of Libraries for the Future. Carol Greenfield and Carol Treat Morton presented program overviews and skill sets to participants. Staff involved in the grant learned how to successfully implement library programs that will connect older, active adults with opportunities in their communities for civic engagement, meaningful work, and learning.
Watch for a web page coming to the NMRLS site in 2005 that will help libraries model programs for this demographic.
