The Annual Business Meeting, Program, and Luncheon are scheduled for:
Thursday, November 16, 2006
Merrimack College, Cascia Hall, North Andover
Registration begins at 11:30 AM
This year NMRLS begins a focused drive to help member libraries with their marketing efforts. Ten public libraries will take part in a LSTA-funded project that will assist them in writing marketing plans through training and group consulting sessions. NMRLS will also offer workshops in marketing topics that will be open to all members
In line with this and in response to member input at last year's Annual Meeting, the keynote speaker will be Elisabeth Doucett, Assistant Director at Beebe Memorial Library in Wakefield. Liz holds an MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg Graduate School of Management. Prior to receiving her MS in Library Science from Simmons College, Liz worked for fifteen years as a marketer in the business sector. She will talk about what marketing is (and is not), help you understand what marketing can do for your library, and show you that you don't need to be an expert to market for your library. You'll leave with ideas to take back to your library that can get you started in marketing.
Plan to join us on November 16th. Registration packets will be sent out to all libraries next month.
