Summer Reading Program Updates

2005 Thank You!
To all libraries that credited the Massachusetts Regional Library Systems (MRLS) and the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners (MBLC) in ALL library summer reading program publicity.

While our member librarians understand the role of MRLS and the MBLC, it is important that the public become more aware of Regional and State library contributions.

2005 Program Evaluation - Deadline September 16
Please evaluate our recent 2005 Massachusetts Regional Library Systems Going places @ your libraryŽ statewide summer library adventure by completing our online evaluation form - www.nmrls.org/surveys/srp05.htm.

Time to Order Summer 2006 Materials
Nature and Insects are the theme of our upcoming 2006 Statewide Summer Reading Program and our program will be called "what's buzzin' at your library?" Minnesota's Metropolitan Library Service Agency (MELSA) developed this program. MRLS, working with MELSA through the JanWay Company, will offer this program to our member libraries in 2006 and will tailor it to meet our Massachusetts library summer reading program needs.

Visit the Summer Reading Program 2006 Update to view a color picture of our 2006 summer reading program - www.nmrls.org/sum/2005/update2006.html

Important: September 30 is the deadline to submit the 2006 Program Materials Order Online Form to NMRLS - www.nmrls.org/surveys/srp06_order.htm. All materials that are listed on this form are funded by NMRLS and provided free of charge to member libraries.

Summer 2006 Promotional Materials
Beginning in mid-October, the JanWay Company will feature a website that will showcase all the incentive items for our upcoming "what's buzzin' at your library?" 2006 Summer Reading Program. (These items will be on display at the NOBS/NMRLS Summer Reading Program Wrap-Up on October 3) In addition to our traditional t-shirts, banners, and book packs, next summer's featured incentives will also include denim shirts, rubber stamps, and bumble bee hats. Through the JanWay Summer 2006 Incentive Items Website, member libraries will also have an opportunity to order - at cost - extras of all MRLS summer program promotionals (posters, manuals, Clip Art CDs, YA Membership Cards). We'll be posting all MRLS Summer Reading Program News and Updates on our MASSYAC email discussion list. Instructions on how to subscribe to this list are available at www.mlin.lib.ma.us/cgi-bin/lwgate/MASSYAC/
