The NMRLS Lifelong Access eXchange is designed to promote the sharing of information resources by libraries to foster enhanced programming and services to a new generation of older adults. The generation of older adults is increasingly healthier and living longer. Many of these aging baby boomers view retirement not as a time just for rest and relaxation, but as a time to begin a new chapter of their lives and explore new activities and challenges. Libraries together with other community organizations are poised to play a key role in facilitating this exploration and involvement.
This eXchange will include topical resources of interest to this population, examples of “best practices” from our community and beyond, and a calendar of regional events of interest.
This site is maintained by NMRLS but relies on member contributions. Please tell us about programs at your library, articles of interest, as well as suggestions you may have for site improvement by contacting Mary Behrle at mary@nmrls.org.
