8th Meet the Author great success!

October 29th, 2008 · No Comments

The 8th Meet the Author convened at St. John’s Prep in Danvers. The day had been rainy and stormy but as the audience gathered in the A. E. Studzinski Library, the sun came out in full force!

Authors Susan Goodman, Marty Kelley, Deborah Noyes, and Jill Stover each made presentations. Susan discussed her newest and most topical book See How They Run: Campaign Dreams, Election Schemes, and the Race to the White House , about the 2000 Election. Marty demonstrated his illustrations for Twelve Terrible Things with a wonderful slide show of his work, Deborah shared her love for both the normal (1 Kingdom) and the paranormal (The Ghosts of Kerfol), and Jill delighted the audience with her Texas twang storytelling.

From participant evaluations:

“The delight each author takes in his/her work. All of the panel’s commentary will provide answers when students, and teachers, inquire about how to write and publish a book, about how to select a topic for an original story, and about determination despite rejection.”

“…the book talks provided me with a deeper understanding of the works discussed and a unique perspective that only an author could provide. Thanks to the gang and St. John’s for providing such an entertaining and informative afternoon. The refreshments were delicious!”
